AP Diver help

I found the blue dial AP diver recently at a new boutique and tried it on. Actually they had the black dial and white dial as well.

Really liked it and considering it’s purchase.

I have been mostly a Rolex and Patek buyer.

This would be my first AP.

Given all the challenges buying their SS models from ADs, I was a little surprised these three divers were all out in the case and ready for purchase.

First question:

Is the blue dial Diver a hard find at retail or pretty much readily available?

If hard to find, and I was lucky to see it then I may go back and get it now.

If these are pretty easy to locate, then I will not rush.

Second question:

What is the general feeling about the blue dial diver?

Loved, hated, meh?

Stock photo for reference.

Thx for any insight.

I saw the same 3 divers at the NYC boutique today. I would guess they aren't as rare as their 15XXXST RO brothers. I really like the blue dialed diver. I have the silver(white) diver and I think the blue one would be fun to have and put different straps on it. Like a yellow to match the hands and minutes numbers.

Answer your questions, divers are not hard to find.

For this range, I only like the original black dial diver and the ceramic diver. Nothing against the blue one as well. It's a nice watch.

The divers aren’t hard to come across as the Royal
Oak line has taken over the ROO hype. If you were to get one of those, I’d go for the blue as it’s quite unique since its got yellow hands and could be paired well with other colored straps.

However, if you wanna play safe and plan to sell it off in the long run, black is the way to go. Can’t go wrong with black and easier to move.

I did not know about the new Boutique in Atlanta, so just googled it. Run by Watches of Switzerland—not sure how I feel about that.

But I’ll have to stop by for a visit!

Helpful....and interesting about the black.

That’s actually good news about availability.

No need to rush a decision.

Thx

They were very nice at AP and allowed me to try on anything of interest.

They had the three steel divers, the new Offshore 42mm black/red chrono (which I tried on...and really likes as well) and a few other non-PM pieces.

Mayors opened a new Rolex Boutique next door to AP...nothing there to see other than a few PM Sky Dwellers and ladies watches... and as usual, unfriendly as always. Just my experience.

I personally love this diver, and I don't think most AD's have it in stock. It's not as hard to get as a 15400 of course, but it's not sitting around in most cases either.

I got to try it on and loved it...........the only reason I didn't buy it was b/c I felt it wore just a bit too big on me.

I like the black one most, its the classic much like a black sub, the blue and yellow combo is not for me, I think the white can be hard to find.

The blue isn’t vivid like on the 15400, black is my preference, but white is also cool although it wears a touch larger.

Divers are probably one of the easier to get APs, which is super for potential buyers as they are great everyday watches. Most i expect, would agree that the now discontinued CE version is top of the diver tree.

Went go karting in mine last weekend. No issues whatsoever despite all the bumps etc.

I think this is gorgeous. If you already have some black dial watches, I say give some color a try. I think ROOs are meant to be fun, and this one nails it.

After some of the comments, I will pass on the blue diver.

I have plenty of black dials, so maybe look at the white dial if I go diver.

Or move up to a 42mm chrono...I like the Navy.

Well, if you like it and have the money for it, don’t be dissuaded because of others’ opinions.

But sure, take some time on your decision.

Personally, hard to not like the classic black diver. Burlington’s photos really paint it as a great every day watch.

I love the blue dial but HATE the yellow on it and wouldn’t buy because of that.

I am about to pick up this watch, white dial with blue accents (latest edition) and excited to wear it on white band for the rest of summer! I like this better than the older white with black accents.

Question I have is if I put this on a bracelet, will it look good with white dial and blue accents (specifically the crowns). I have seen a few pics of black divers on a bracelet and one white (with black accents) but curious what others would think.

Excited to get my first AP!

this sums up the reason for holding back supply

i honestly think they sell more watches not having them on display.

I prefer the black diver and ce diver as well.

I think the bracelet changes the look, I like the fat diver rubber strap more, but personal preference, I like the sport but elegant look.

Agreed. Too much steel, not enough black with bracelet.

My friend has his white dial diver on bracelet and that looks good, but my black diver will stay on rubber.

Is this the white dial with black accents or them more recent one with blue accents and crowns? How do you think it would look with the blue accents/crowns and a bracelet? This is the only thing giving me hesitation - I want the option of going bracelet but can’t find any pictures of the white/blue dial on bracelet.

Its about as hard to find as a 114060LN no date sub. Where I am its on 6 months waitlist at the moment. Buy if you like, its a nice summer watch and could be an all year watch if you work/live in a casual environment.

Thanks! I have seen that video - it is the white/black one, so I get the overall idea but curious what the blue accents would do to the look, positive or negative. More so on the crown vs the dial.

There is another video of the white/blue diver on the blue rubber and it looks great!
