How often should I wind an 8 day movement..

… for best accuracy.

Silly me, I assumed it was once per week. But then again, I’m not really sure and haven’t see a whole lot on it. Anyone have any anecdotal or definitive advice on how often to wind ( or not wind ) my 915?

thanks!

If it’s the only watch you wear pick and day and stick to it. That’ll keep her running in perpetuity.

I too wind every Sunday. As for accuracy both of mine are fast, I reset the time every two weeks or so although it hardly matters because they don’t hack. They are the most relaxing watches I own.

That having been said, I've heard people say the accuracy of that movement starts to drop when the power reserve is below 2 days
Its anecdotal as i've never seen someone put one on a timing machine but if you're super concerned with accuracy you may want to wind it once it hits 50%
I do find its usually out around 3-5min every month or so but i'd say that has more to do with the fact its the only watch i own that doesnt need the time reset before i put it on

No no, it's supposed to be on SUNday that you wind it. Didn't you get the Panerai TPS Report?

You do it wrong, Sunday is the Panerai winding day ;)

So far I know of:

Speedy Tuesday
Tudor Thursday
Flieger Friday
Panerai Sunday

What else is there that I don't know, wasn't it there Seiko Monday?

That’s it! Someone get Panerai Marketing on the phone! Truth be told, one unexpected pleasure I have had in the first few weeks of ownership is my little Sunday ritual, taking a few minutes to drink espresso and wind the watch.

Preach to the choir my friend, preach to the choir! I also enjoy winding my Pam 233 every Sunday.

The PR (8 and 10 days) that Panerai utilises in now many of its in-house calibers is one of the best across the industry.

You bring up an EXCELLENT point WatchThinker. Exactly which espresso machine is everyone using? Ya see, we have some standards here. Sure they're low, yet we still have them anyway. Here at Pooltopia, we only use the Milan-made Rocket espresso machine, because... Italy.

Any espresso machine not made within Italy is not allowed during Panerai Sunday

Please allow me the highest of honor in humbly thanking you for observing Panerai Sunday. Now go, and may peace and the joy of time be with you.

Will La Pavoni Europicola espresso coffee manual extraction machine qualifies for use during Panerai Sunday?

Not sure if it is made in Firenze ...but it makes fantastic ristretto espresso.

I admit I am a coffee and Panerai addict.

Me too! All my "what Panerai are you wearing" photos seem to be shot w/my watch and an illy cup!! ( Though I confess to have mothballed my illy machine for Nespresso. Too easy! ).
