Black or Silver for VC overseas 4500V / 7900V

I refuse to pay Grey market prices for the blue dial VC overseas. I cannot decide which watch to put down a deposit, black or silver? Which color do you prefer?

Looking forward to your opinions. Thanks!

7900V black with the nice red hand accent looks very nice. If size is also a concern, black will help to make the watch looks a bit smaller.

Why not a blue 7900?

I personally like the silver 4500V over the black. I like the way the hour hands pop on the silver dial as well as the sunburst on that dial. They both are beautiful dials though.

Because they longer accept deposit at the AD for any blue dials, and I refuse to pay Grey market prices for one.

I am leaning towards the 4500v, but I’m contemplating which dial to get. It’s currently a 6-8 months wait for one.

I don't believe in substitution.
You're gonna put more than 20 bills in one you didn't really want ... just by debit ?!
It is a thing to regret !
The blue dial does a lot, another aspect will never replace it.

There are other more important things in life, so be patient.
Or negotiate a blue on the secondary market, it will be necessary to put what is necessary...

I don't believe in substitution either, but I guess I would go for the silver dial for the version you like more. For me I was drawn to VCO with the 4500v blue dial. Then I tried on a DT and realized the model was smaller than I thought, so I wanted the Chrono instead. I then looked at the blue Chrono and realized I like the black Chrono more. Lucky for me I settled on a watch that was actually possible to buy.

By the way, dont wait too long to decide. In Hong Kong no more deposits for any Overseas. All sold out, even in black and silver. Probably a few months and the list is closed overthere too..

I’ve been on the waiting list to leave a deposit for a blue dial 4500v since April. I doubt it will ever open up so don’t have my hopes up too high. Thus, I’m moving on to a silver or black dial. I have too many black dial watches so I may lean towards silver. Man, tough decision….

The black 7900 is my second favorite of the vco line (after the blue 4500); a close second BTW.

In my opinion, the blue is the nicest blue dial I have ever seen in person. That being said, I'd much prefer the black dial or even the silver dial.

The other thread on that model says all 150 or sold out already, but not sure I like it better anyway.
So to be clear, you can no longer place a deposit for the blue dual time 7900 from the Vacheron boutique either? Or just your local AD?

The boutiques aren't taking deposits and are giving a timeframe of somewhere between 2-3 years before you can get it.

Black 7900V won my heart over - the red DT hands really pop against the black sunburst dial. No ragerts ;)

Although I'm slowly coming around to the silver 4500V, those black polished indices and hands are very special

Are you sure you can get one of them at retail?

Nice! I’m just confused when people say they have close the deposit and interest list worldwide.

Here is the thing…at the VC boutique in NY, they did close the deposit for any of the blue dials overseas. Apparently I’m on the waiting list for the possibility of leaving a deposit for the blue dial. They have no idea when it will open. My bet is it won’t.

Currently, deposit for the silver or black dial is still open. Hope that clarifies your confusion.

Thanks for clarification! I hope you will be able to buy the blue one. It’s a gorgeous watch. If I was you I would buy the black one and hope to buy the blue. If not, you still have the black one. In HK and much other place there is no possible for deposit for the 4500v.

I hear ya. Very tempting to get the black dial. It’s beautiful!

are they really not taking deposit any more?

I put down deposit on a silver dial 3-hand at the boutique like 6 months. The condition is that there is no time frame when a watch will be able available, and i would have to pay whatever MSRP at the time of delivery when a watch is available.

silver dial 3-hands model was the ONLY model they are willing take deposit on. what I truly wanted is the dual time.

I don't know, I have been thinking if I should pull my deposit since who know how long it will take them to deliver (literally) and I still prefer the dual time over 3-hand.
