Thanks. I would say smooth like a 5170, but 5196 is smoother. I haven’t tried an old 3970 though.

Thanks. I'm hoping to try one out soon.
I love the feel of the old 5070/3970 winding vs the newer ones.

For those who have put another strap out, did you go with 21mm/16mm? Any recommendations for strap manufacturers?

Have read great things about Jean Rousseau and Camille Fournet. I've seen Delugs and Molequin straps on some watches online as well. Curious if anyone has experience with these as well?

It is a Patek oem matte grey alligator strap, and yes you need a 21/16 strap for a 6119.

Anyone have the charcoal dial on a medium brown / caramel color strap? Curious how that combo looks.

Primarily been seeing grey straps swapped out of the original black one

I have a smaller wrist than you (~6.3) and I feel like the OEM strap is really stiff and could have been a driving factor in it feeling weird / sitting awkwardly.. Size wise, for my personal preference, I think it is a good modern size that works casually and dressed up.

I'm looking for some alternative straps to put on the watch. I don't think I'll be using the black shiny / patent leather band very much.

I really like but the combo of thin dress and below 40mm (I think its 39mm) is going to be a problem. Does anybody with a bigger wrist own a calatrava?

It’s nicer in person than I expected, but of course was told “it’s already sold”
Surprised how much I liked the R

I think my wrist is on the larger but not too large side? Sweet spot for me is 39-40mm watches.

Have definitely bonded with my one of these.

I’ve been wanting to try this one also, my wrist is 7 and a quarter and I can get away with most watches even the Tudor bronze but a thin dress watch is a strange one, my 5196 is the perfect size at only 37mm due to the flatness and wide 20mm strap, I’m worried the new calatrava might look too big

If Patek does one thing well it’s subtle elegance. That watch in person defines that idea. I love the R as a dress watch, but the G is so dynamic while retaining its simplicity it’s hard to say no to buying. I’ll probably try to get it next year. Too many things incoming this fall.

Just wondering if there were any more recent owner views of the 6119 - looks amazing. Supply getting worse or better?

A bit funny and cool to see this thread back on (I was the OP).

I’ve since bought the watch, took about 6 months at the time.

Not sure about current availability, but I haven’t seen it in any cases when visiting my AD or any other Patek shops.

I’d be curious of current wait times compared to 2 years ago.

You can pick up a pre-owned one at a discount. I just saw one for around $27k - 2022 full set when searching on watchrecon.

Not sure about wait times direct from AD tho - someone else who's visited more recently can chime in

Patek 6119

Still not easy to get quickly, I got to see all the models (nearly) a few months ago and it was the only one they didn’t have at the showing, I’m still yet to see one.
