Panerai Service Centre: Packaging Issues!
Hi,
My 1661 found itself with a scratchy noise on wind, so it went back to the Richmont service center for repair. It was returned about 5 weeks later. The shocker was the packaging. It arrived in this box, a box that's height is shorter than the watch itself. As such the box was distorted to accommodate the size of the watch. My guess is that this box was designed for shipping with the watch lying flat. Is this normal? Is this OK? Maybe Panerai are trying to tell me something about the durability of Carbotech Thanks Roger |

I'm more shocked it wasn't sent back in a named service case/pouch. Very poor. At least it arrived safely.

That looks odd. I’ve sent a few off and they always come back in little black zippered box.

Wow. That is a completely unacceptable packaging for an item that obviously did not fit properly and of such high value. Let us know what they say about this abhorrent packaging please. I would be extremely upset.

That is appalling. I’ve had phone charger cables delivered in better packaging.

Well I guess by the time 70 year warranty works start they might just return them in zip locks sandwich bags

Indeed. The watch itself was in a shrink wrapped plastic bag and nothing had any branding on it. Just a report on what was done. The shipping label only mentioned Richemont.
Cosmetically it looks perfect, however I emailed them. If it turns out the case was warped or similar I don't want them denying a warranty claim if it looses water resistance. |
