Rolex Polar Question

Hi,

Haven't been following the watch world for a while, and slightly getting back in.

Is there a reason why the price on the polar explorer 2 ranges from 8k to 12k? I'm being offered a k serial 40mm with lug holes for 7800. Is that a good deal?

Thanks.

Probably the 3185 movement cheaper than 3186 with engraved rehaut

Not really a calibre issue, more a condition issue.

You're looking at an earlier 16570 with a "holes" case. That watch was not delivered with a 3186 movement. It does have a SEL bracelet, though.

Agreed. Just looked at pics. This is wrong and not told. What else is wrong I'd be thinking!

Wouldn't touch it.

I didn’t give pics a thorough examination, but it looks to be a nice exp II with oyster bracelet in good condition also. These have been climbing steadily higher in value. What am I missing?

SEL bracelet with a drilled lugs case. Possible but not likely. No providence, the detail you want to see can't be in the pics provided, no box or papers. K serial never had the 3186 calibre. That alone kills the deal.

SEL with drilled lugs case in a K serial- common enough and not a concern. Don’t need “provenance”, most of it is made up anyways. The watch speaks for itself.

The seller said it has 3186, maybe he just doesn’t know and is parroting something he read somewhere. Open it up and find out. Problem solved.

If you would buy. Then you would buy. I looked for 12 months before picking up an A serial. I wouldn't touch this but, we're all different.
