Paralysed by Indecision New to GS

Help...

I'm wanting to purchase my first GS and 3 models all meet my needs and desires but I can only purchase one of them

I can purchase them all at the same price, they all fit wonderfully and all will fill a gap in my collection. None of them is required or more functional than the others so that criteria is out the door to.

I am paralysed by indecision as I love all three.

The three are.

The GS snowflake
The GMT SGBE 255
The GMT SGBE 257

As a first GS which one is the safest bet, the most desirable and more importantly the one most likely to not depreciate too much and be easy to flip in the future should I decide it needs to go.

I would go with the 257.

No worry, buy the Snowflake now. Then a few months down the line, you will buy the GMT. There is no such a thing as " can only buy one ", in GS buying.

The original owner traded it for a date just
Pain $3900. So hope I got a good deal

So 2 new watches in 2 days. The other is the Rolex gmt

As for a " Balanced Collection ", not so fast . I don't think anyone can stop collecting, once they own a SP and a GMT.

The only question that is left unanswered is........which one do you like?? Seems you're looking at this purchase like an investment rather than a purchase for your enjoyment....its kind of sad that this is what the whole buying experience has turned into.

Actually both. I purchased the Snowflake based upon the notion that it is the quintessential GS, I fell in loved with the simplicity of the design and was a great price. It also was different to my GMT Master ii that I traded into a day before.

So 80% emotional, but economics also played a part.

When deciding between watches, all things being equal I will factor in price and depreciation. I know myself well enough not to second guess my future intensions, so if I can avoid being taken to the cleaners if I decide to trade/sell I will.

But like you say, times have changes from when we bought 1 lifelong watch and kept it as an heirloom, the hobby has moved onto multiple purchases and flipping.

Whether this is a good thing ...............

I think many people buy watches with half an eye on possible appreciation/depreciation/value retention, it's only prudent given that situations change and one day you may want/need to liquidate the collection.

I do not think this saddens the buying process at all.

Congratulations. I got to try on a snowflake for the first time a few months ago. It’s a stunning watch.

Can't go wrong with a Snowflake and $3900 is a good price.

If I were looking for a GS Sport GMT, I'd have a look at the SBGE 201 or 245 with the rotating, lumed sapphire bezel...
