True GILT Barn Find!!
This 1965 1675 gilt GMT has to be one of the dirtiest, yet cleanest watches I have ever seen.
The watch has not worked in years and as you can see, the crystal was beyond shot. Some moisture did enter the watch and left a small topical layer around the 6 o'clock area. Removing the bezel, tension spring and retaining ring, you can see where there is PLENTY of DNA and corrosion. Besides replacing a few mechanical parts, all this watch needed was a sympathetic cleaning. Once finished, what better than installing a T-38 to top it off. This particular dial is indeed cool as the 6, 9 and 12 markers are slightly lighter in color and match evenly.

Nice work Phillip on the watch and the photographs! Makes me want to use you guys just to have a cool chronicle of the tear down and rebirth. I think the way you document these vintage pieces adds unmistakable value to the service you provide. Really stellar work!

To clarify, as of May of 2019, I started my own adventure opening up Ridleywatchmakers.com, focusing on any vintage Rolex and Omega, as well as, some of the current pieces.
