I understand what you’re saying. I meant that they kept the position of the date window 38mm closer towards one of the markers as they did in 41mm for consistently of being closer to the left.

The 39mm ROC and early 41mm ROCs had perfect date placements. It's only when AP changed the sub-dial sizes on the 41mm ROC (around 2017 I think) that caused the issues with the date window, and now it has gotten worse with this new release. I agree it doesn't look good.

AP cant release a 39mm ro chrono because it would mean they realize the 41m chrono was a bit too large.

Such a beauty. Definitely worth considering given the silly waiting times for the daytona. But it is nearly double the retail price of a daytona...

New ROC 38 bracelet
I have heard complaints about the bracelet being too tapered and narrow (hence feminine) and that they use the 15450 (37 mm) bracelet.
From the pic, it seems that first link is clearly wider than that of the 37mm but I guess it can still have the same taper profile. I am guessing that it is not the exact same bracelet as the 15450. Anyone with color on this? |

The 38mm chrono bracelet isn't exactly that of the 15450, but.........it's much closer to a 15450 bracelet than it is a 15300 or 15202. |

What is the explanation for not having a centered date window? you would think it is an easy fix?

I really don't get the non-centered date window. There must be a techinical explanation, but it looks odd. I like symmetry!

There a lot of these idiosyncracies, e.g. why do the ALS, newest PP and even the Daytonas Chronos have sub-dials not in line horizonally with the main dials? I suspect its the movement, they make the movement first and when it come to the dial then say, damn it, ah well...
I guess that is why FPJ designs the dial first then builds the movement to suit th dial ...apparently. But the date window thing is quite mysterious though, any insights? |

The blancpain leman chrono, which is based on the same F.Piguet 1185 movement, has a perfectly symmetrical dial with the date window at 6. I don't know why AP did not come up with a solution like that.

The problem is the 2 sub dials are different sizes so the date is either centered between the sub dials or minute markers but not both.

I've got a deposit on a 15500 ST blue and the 38mm panda as seen above and first on the list at my AD.
I have a 6.5" wrist. My 15400 OR sits too big on me and I am hoping the 38mm is not too small. Do you guys think I can flip these both for some decent coin if I don't like them when they arrive? |

I don't agree with what your saying, because the date window is correctly placed on the radial line from the center of the dial, between and right in the middle of the two sub dial perimeters. I don't see anything wrong with it IMHO.

Yes, but it is not centered between the 4 and 5 o’clock indices.

Maybe if you have one of the first, the 15500 blue probably more than the chronolo but you're not risking too much Id imagine... |
