AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver - Is my AD ripping me off?

Hello all,
I'm interested in purchasing an AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver. Black rubber strap and black face/dial. My local AP AD one in stock but is looking for $24,000. New examples seems to be selling on the private market for about $16,000. Am I missing something here? Is the AD's price consistent with with other AD's ? Or am are they trying to screw me over?

Okay, thanks!

I'll see if they are willing to sell for retail and if not I'll move on.

Is it common to find this model in stock at most AP AD's?

Should not be hard to find, contact some AD's in your area or boutiques. Also look at grays like Takuya or DavidSW who can likely get one for you.

David has one for 14K: https://davidsw.com/watches/audemars...th-black-dial/

Just for clarity, are you suggesting that an authentic authorized dealer is the one that's trying to sell it for $24,000 USD in the United States?

Yes - this is curious if so.

It's worth retail, but shouldn't be too hard to source from a boutique.

Its a great watch

I would just contact your nearest AP boutique. They should be able to sort you out at msrp and hopefully take care of you down the road when AP is boutique only.

Just remember that depending on the country the retail price fluctuates a bit across the globe.

I got mine last April from Alan Furman.

When I bought he was posting his prices online but now it says to contact for price and availability. Could indicate nothing, or perhaps it reflects a tightening of available watches.

correct and most everyone except the US the retail price includes tax... in the US its in addition to the list price

so US price is really about $20.5k...$21,800 in the UK
