Vietnam combat Omega Seamaster COSMIC

In searching through some Army items this week, discovered this 1969 vintage
Omega Seamaster Cosmic, with original OD military-issue nylon band. The watch is now keeping good time. Some surface crystal scratches from Northern I Corps
near Khe Sanh. I purchased this Omega from another combat veteran
while in Vietnam-1971.

It has the DAY-DATE feature. I am considering parting with this watch, though probably will regret that-as soon as I do let it go.

My camera feature is disabled, or I would provide a better photograph
with detailed images of face and case-remarkably in good condition.

No picture loaded. I'd love to see that one.

I had thought this Omega was long lost, with so many military career moves and transfers. Not so.
It has been a survivor-just like the 1680 Red Submariner.

Trying to get my picture loading feature working on this ancient PC of mine.
It is being less than cooperative. One of the better vintage watch dealers in S. Florida is expressing interest, as he particularly likes military vintage watches with real history.

This watch spent time with the 5th Special Forces Group (ABN) and the 5th INF DIV
in two separate combat assignments. This Seamaster has been shot at-literally.
Tough little vintage Cosmic that has kept on ticking through many years of use
and exposure throughout Indochina. Went to Hong Kong with me to purchase the 1680 Submariner -also in 1971 on R&R. Should have brought back 5 Submariners.

Keep the watch Colonel. Too much history between the two of you to part with it.
