Completely agree, it's a very nice piece, especially for those wanting a Rolex dress watch.

This is one of my dress watches...

It's a tricky one to photograph :)

This is such a great piece. I picked one up last year as well and love the versatility of it. The detailing on the bezel, the meteorite Moonphase...it is at home with a suit and also in jeans.

Congrats on a great watch.

Thanks much Bas!

Been looking for a Cintree since I began collecting, very much satisfied to finally have received it.

Very cool watch but I don’t know much about it. Can you educate me a bit on what it is?

Originally produced in 1921; aside from dial variations, the Cintree remains largely unchanged. There have been to the best of my knowledge 2 alternate but related versions, 1 had a very short run (I am not very familiar) and the other is the a “Americaine” which is a bit thicker, wider & shorter, released for the US market.

There have also been several splashes of the Cintree over the years. In around 2000, 50 pieces were released in platinum and 150 in gold, then in 2018 cartier announced 100 pieces in platinum (with a redesigned dial) with additional offerings in yellow and rose gold that we be made for an undisclosed limited run.

The dimensions of the Cintree are 23mm wide by 46mm long, the watch has a JLC movment and the case is curved as the name Cintrée suggests.

Noteworthy is a watch collector featured on Hodinkee, Roni Madhvani has a unique piece 1 of 1 made by Cartier at his request, pre Richemont. 1 watch in a super interesting collection.

Check it out here: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ta...-roni-madhvani

In 1990 I had been subscribed to Sotheby’s watch auctions and would receive their quarterly catalogs, I became interested in this Cartier cintree then. It was among the trio that captured my interest the other two being the Daytona and and a Patek calatrava.

This Cintree is for me a meaningful point in my collecting that closes a chapter.
