It was very common to refinish the dial back in the days.

So intersting similarities in this 5512 - text at top and bottom key match for size,
font etc

Maybe the refinisher used the Rolex as a model for comparison. It's interesting. These Tudor watches were heavily abused back in the day. So moisture could have seeped and ruined the dial printing. Without a clear Swiss at 6 o'clock then you have to assume it's a modified dial. A Rolex dial likely had different feet and could not be affixed to the fef390

Similarities? Well the text is more or less the same. The refinisher was not overly talented....

No. There are no vintage Rolex or Tudor Submariners without swiss text at 6 oclock. This dial is refinished. There is absolutely no doubt about it.
