Newbie Question: 1969 Air King 5500
Hello all,
This is my first post. I'm purchasing a 1969 Air King 5500 for my wife and have a quick question on the correct Oyster Bracelet to fit this watch. I've attempted a cursory search of the forums as well. The watch does not come with the original bracelet and currently has a Nato strap. We love the strap, but I also want to purchase a correct fitting oyster bracelet. My research has shown that the correct bracelet would be a 19mm 70190 bracelet. Can you fine folks confirm this? Also, any resources as to where to purchase the bracelet are welcomed. Thanks so much! |

the newer 70190 oyster came on the more modern sapphire airkings. while it will certainly mount on your watch as the 19mm head links will fit between the lugs, you may not like the overall fit of the head links in relation to the lugs height in your older version. the absolutely correct bracelet for your watch would be the older folded oyster and they are not hard to find. simply look in sales listings here or VRF (vintagerolexforum.com) as many reputable members list this sort of stuff often.

A 1969 would probably use a 19mm model 7835 folded link bracelet with either 57 or 557 end links
