Pulled the trigger on a Tudor Sub 79090 1992
I've been looking for a 5513 for what feels like forever. I've seen many, negotiated a few and bid on a couple. Buy the seller is a mantra I've learned from this great community and I let that be my guide. That being said, this nagging feeling from that old Wendy's commercial "parts is parts" always popped in my head. As pervasive as 5513's seem to be, you never find them with papers and boxes.
So, hey, how about a Tudor Sub? The 4 lines, markings and such got me thinking and I went about my research. I immediately fell in love with the blue. Tangentially, I keep hearing that either Tudor or Rolex is rolling out something for Basel 2019, anyway, keeping in my my audience here, I will wrap it up. My mate in Florida called me and said he found a 79090 full set that looks like a museum piece. Send me photos and 24 hours later it arrived. I took it for a walk in the snow today and couldn't be happier. Could be an every day piece, although the folded bracelet feels quite dated. MVIMG_20190220_145346.jpg |

Congratulations on a great find! You owe your friend big time for locating one with B&P.
Can’t go wrong with the plexiglass crystal either.

Wow CPRwatch (Paul), that is beautiful as well. The blue really catches the light in the most subtle ways. Again, my picture game needs an uptick.

Congrats, that’s a good score. The blue Subs are very attractive and desired.
So I bought a GMT 16750 in August last year, I have brought it up to where it needed to be and I love it. Correct everything, the insert is a little bit early but it matches well. Later last year I stumbled on a ratty Tudor Sub, 76100 which is the watch before yours. I had it cleaned up, repaired and now I can’t take it off. I will keep both but there is something about the Tudor I like. I even had LAWW completely restore my 160133 and I haven’t been able to go a day not wearing the Tudor. Congrats on a very nice find, was that the one listed on Chrono (think it was a S Florida dealer). Beautiful.

That is too funny, I was tracking that one as well. This one came from a shop in Orlando, the one on Chrono was in Miami.

The GMT looks great, it's something that constantly distracts me. Looking at NATO/Military straps and a blue rubber strap as well. Just can't stop staring at this sub. Thanks for all the comments.

Beautiful. Full set and in pristine condition? What price did you pick it up, if you don’t mind?
I’m thinking of picking up the blue counterpart to mine... IMG_3670.jpg 75090 though, the little cousin of yours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh, how I wish I had kept my Tudor Submariners. Back in late 1990s and early 2000's, I was buying/selling/trading those in the $1100 range. Now... geez! Enjoy it and wear it in good health.

A blue Tudor will be my next purchase in the near future (been craving one since late last year) maybe sometime this year if & when funds permit. I have a SS BB58 inbound in the next 4-6 weeks so that will tide me over for a while. This hobby is costly to say the least ! Wear it in good health.

Thanks for all the comments and pics of other great examples. I would be stoked of Tudor or Rolex came out with a blue SS Sub at Basel next month, would certainly double down.

There is a really nice blue 76100 in UK on the Omega Forum FYI. The watch that came before this one, it’s fairly priced too.

I usually don't like blue on a watch, except for this one. Congrat, it's a special watch.

Hey Chris (tekno)-That is a nice head listed on the Omega forum, although no papers, new bracelet, etc...price probably reflects this as well

Interesting, I was under the impression that 76100 only had lollipop hands. |

Some later watches had Mercedes hands, and then some that were serviced had hands replaced. I don’t know for sure what the case is here, but if you look at Eric Ku’s website - 10pastten.com - he has two NOS 76100 examples that he recently sold. The 1989 model has Mercedes hands. It’s worth a look, both watches are beautiful. He has a exotic dial Monte Carlo that is just stunning listed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

Pretty sure that website hasn't been updated in ages. That R-serial 1016 is worth way more than 8,800.
