Oakley X-Metals (Mars, Juliet, XX, Romeo) and Oakley Pitboss I, and Oakley Elite C-Six.

For Persols, I wear the 649 and the 714 Steve Mcqueen Light Havana/Crystal Blue lenses.

Living in Florida where sunglasses are pretty much an everyday essential I’ve tried just about all of the well known brands, Costa, Maui’s, Persols, Smith optics , Oakleys etc.

I go through about 2 pairs of sunglasses a year , I now find its best for me to just buy Rayban Wayfarers- classic, fairly robust, available with polarized lenses and easily available.

Maybe other brands do this but being retired military I go through Oakley SI and purchase my Oakleys for about 45% less than MSRP. So not only am I getting what I want with Oakley Ear Socks which don't wrap around the ear which I cant stand with regular glasses I also get them at a discount with my military ID me program. Besides the plastic stuff which I only wear for bicycle riding or things I can't discuss the too have more metal frame which I prefer.

I have other brands such as Cartier but the Oakley Ear Socks work best for me.

Bought a nice Tom Ford pair today, but typically Oakleys for sport and I have multiple pairs of RayBan aviators as they suit my face shape. Along with the Tom Fords, bought yet another pair of aviators today.

Dan, I just bought my Maui Jim’s off GovX. If you upload a DD-214 you get crazy prices on brand names. My MJs were 40% off.

Fellow veterans and public service people - there is another great web sight available for discounts on many brands (I know Costa is in there) it is Expertvoice.com. Same as SI and GovX, just have to register and send documentation for verification.

The PX is also now available online for all veterans, without the previous limitations of who could shop there.

Apparently experticity has been changed to ExpertVoice.com

When it was experticity a few years ago. You could get Costas for $50 with a .mil email.

I love my Persol because they're Not polarized and it has a beautiful gradient lens which makes reading through the bottom half of the lens so much easier.
And it's a blue tortoise shell which I had never seen before.

Cool, I wasn't aware of that site. Thanks Paul, I"ll have to take a look.

I've considered getting a pair of Maui Jims if for no other reason than they supposedly have some great lenses. However my Oakleys seem to work well and I really like their ear socks instead of the normal ear pieces.

Promotive was a separate deal. Really opened my eyes to how easily folks outside of X industry could get a hold of product at less than retail, bypassing dealers. Kinda bothered me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Never heard of them, started looking and love their look. I just picked up a pair this week and love them. The quality is nothing like I have had ever. I just ordered another pair. Excellent workmanship and unique.

Ah, I thought ProMotive morphed into Experticity. That’s my mistake.

There were some decent deals on Promotive, but most of the manufacturers that sold on there already had the same discounts available to MIL and LE directly. ProMotive just provided a one-stop shop for it, instead of having to contact each manufacturer directly.

These are flying under the radar. Great glasses that can be had fairly cheap, and available in 3 different sizes. I’ve got a pair that I wear when sponsors aren’t looking. Stole them back from my wife.

Maui Jim Kahuna is what I've worn for the past 5 years. Stylish, great protection, well built. Love them and would definitely buy Maui Jim again.

Anyone have familiarity with Tom Ford sunglasses? Size wise I feel Ray Ban run a bit small on my face.

Just got my new Maui Jim Shoals. I had sent in an old pair of Maui Jims for a tune up but since they no longer had the parts available, I was given a significant discount on a new pair of my choice. I love Oakley and Maui Jim wire frames...
