Ty sir. Be careful what you wish for. The sacrifices these guys made to be my friend. Hehe.

Was happy that by sheer coincidence all three got their watches today.

One called me and said he took it swimming today and he will go to the beach tomorrow.

The volunteer fireman loved the firefighter theme of the williamwood.

The other one just sent me a wrist shot.

Now am tempted to get one for myself (both the seiko and the williamwood). Hehe. Am resisting because knowing me, if i get one, easy to be tempted to get the other two.

Agreed. 100%.

Though i think the dial of the SLA017 is still much better.

I have the same attitude, FWIW If I were to go blue, then I'd take the SPB149*, despite the unnecessary gold accents but I don't need that many blue-dialed watches; black (-base) is still the new black

*Actually, I'd probably go with the SPB143 despite it (also) being grey-based & use it as a beater

I passed on the SLA017 when my AD had one and I have regretted it since. The SLA037 was not going to pass by without me owning it. It is a lot of money, depending on how you look at it, but a great watch. I have the SPB143 with the silver dial and maybe it is a stand in for the SLA017 as I really like it. Seiko watches are very fluid and some of my watches that I sell have a a ready buyer should I decide to move on for a fair price. I am waiting on the SLA039 and the SLA041 and I will have all three. Needed, no, but it is a great hobby.

Did you try to find the "set" before you went for the individual SLA037

Just received my SLA033...

...and I'm blown away. I really didn't get how this model could be quite this expensive (Retail).

This model has to be seen in person because pics don't do it justice. I've owned Two GS' and still have a 9F. I see the influence from that that manufacturing line here.

Dare I say that this model rivals many Rolex...Heresy, you say!

I'm glad I sprung for a used SLA than the new model Prospex that just came out. I'm sure it's nice but it doesn't have this fit/finish, LE, and the GS caliber.

Couldn't be happier! I really didn't expect it to impress me that way it did when I took it out of the box.

The three-watch set is available now. Cant understand why it costs more than the three watches if bought separately.

The omega boxed set trilogy price was more or less the same as when bought separately, right?

Maybe because the LE-numbers are matching...

Re. Omega - not sure about the pricing, but the "labeled" dials made the trilogy set less appealing (to me)

Re Seiko, is the matching LE numbers worth the USD2K++ premium?

Re Omega, yes i felt the same way. Weird to have that number on the dial. If one were not planning to wear the watch and just display them on the box, might make sense. But i planned on wearing mine so got them separately. If i recall correctly, priced about the same. And was even able to get some discount from the AD.

Ty sirs. And to 1William, good luck on the 041.

The story is: five watches arrived yesterday. Two 37s. Two 39s. One 41.

After giving to some clients/business partners/friends, i thought, why not give to my brothers. Keeping the 041 for myself. Since nothing similar to the other SLAs i have.

When i had the watches for my brothers delivered, a trio was left. As i had yet to have deliver two to a couple of friends. The trio looked nice together. Got them out of the box. And put them together. And they told me to keep them. So i just followed their wish. :)

037 vs 039: What are your thoughts? I never picked up the 025 but have the 017 and 033. Thinking about the 039 to complete my trilogy in a slightly different way but unsure. The 025 never did much for me when I got my hands on it at the AD. But I love the blue of these.

I have fallen hard for the SLA037 and the SLA039. The blue is amazing and even with the size difference between the two watches they both wear great. The SLA039 would fit right into your collection and I think the blue will work great for you. It is a flat, almost grey blue the is very nice in all light conditions. If you can get one I do not see a down side and if it does not work you can move out of it easily. The SLA037 is also nice. Go see one and you will know.
