Sunburnt, but worth it.

Working graveyard doesn't give me a lot of chances to get out and see the sun. My girlfriend wanted asked me to go blueberry picking with her yesterday because the heat is causing the berries to become blueberry raisins very quickly and this would be her last time to get some this season. We had a great time, but I got a bit sunburnt.

I picked a bunch for myself because I make a mean Blueberry-Rhubarb jam. Yes, Blueberry-Rhubarb... it is a recipe I got from my grandmother years ago. It's a family favorite.

Hey, don't judge me... guys make jam too.

Verry nice. I learned how to cook from my grandmother. It's nice to remember them through food. Love the watch.

I made a killer fig jam a few weeks back to go with some pork loins. No judgement here!

I figure I will make about 24 pints of the jam. I usually give some to family members to stay in their good graces.

You're a better man than I am and I give you credit where credit is due!!

A few months ago the wife wanted to go strawberry picking so we'd do some kind of outdoor activity with the kids and family.

Long story short I shot that idea down and said nooo way ...... we ended up just spending the day at a park!!!

If anyone has gone strawberry picking before ...... bending down several dozen times to pick said strawberries just isn't worth killing your back for days!!!

I grew up picking strawberries as a summer job starting in 3rd grade. The town I was born and grew up in has a yearly Strawberry Festival. I have picked way too many strawberries in my life and really don't have a taste for them anymore.

Every time I go strawberry picking with my kids, wife mom etc, I eat more than what goes into the basket. Then I have the runs for eating warm strawberry for the next few days.

Brilliant ! They should freeze quite well too if you put them on a tray so they stay separate. Nice for Müsli and adding to yoghurt.

Love fruit from the trees

Had some plums and early apples off them yesterday

As well as the blueberries, we picked peaches, cherries and blackberries... I have more fruit in the house than I know what to do with.
