Maintaining your watch while at work
Perhaps I am more picky than most, but I do whatever I can to protect my watches from scratches. I spend most of my day typing at work, so here are a couple things I do. Curious if others do anything different...
- wear long sleeves - for short sleeves I place a microfiber cloth under my wrist to protect from keyboard/desk scratches - take watch off and put in travel case while typing |

No and NO I wear a watch 24/7 the only time I take them off is when I know for sure its going to get beaten badly or when riding.

None of the above. I wear my watch 24/7 also, but the thing I *try* to protect against the most, is impact on the crystal. These watches were made to wear and work in. Wear them in good health!

Wear the watch, don't let it wear you.

i wear a bezel protector over my watch and a sock on my hand. This way my watch never sees the daylight. Sometimes, when I know my day will be a bit more active, I'll just keep the watch in the box and carry the box with me everywhere.

Well - that problem sort of worked itself out naturally.

Maybe adventure isn't what it used to be. I don't climb Everest, but the least I can do for the watch to live on the edge is to use short sleaves without added protection.

I put mine in a safe and strap the safe to my arm. Safest thing for it really.

I use Jocke's patented scratch protection system, works like a charm.

Just coat your entire watch in a thin semi-transparent layer of Elmer's Glue and everything will be alright; your watch will be protected from light bumps and fine scratches, and yet the glue is thin enough you can basically see the metal and crystal without a problem....

I do everything I can to get scratches on mine. A Rolex is a rugged, yet smart watch.

No, I don't mind scratches. They're easy to get out anyway. http://rolexforums.com/showthread.ph...hlight=Rebrush

i do wear long sleeves shirt to work. I will answer no to the other 2.
Especially the 3rd scenario, chances of forgetting about the watch, leaving it behind etc is just too great a risk. I will live with a couple of scratches from the desk on the bracelet. |

at work, i take off my watch, put it in a travel case, then put the case into a locked drawer right next to my desk which has a security camera point to it 24/7 ...
. . . j/k! i wear my watch at work and let the next service worry about scratch and dings ..

I open the safe, look at the watch I want to wear that day and then simply memorise the look of the watch and start counting from the time shown on the dial. One, one thousand, two, one thousand, three, one thousand, etc etc. Shuddup! Can't you see I'm concentrati.... damn, now I've got to start again. One, one thousand, two, one thousand, three, one thousand, four......
