I think it's fine but I can't pull them off. Although I don't think I can pull off rose or yellow gold either. Only white precious metals and SS for me.

To me i can appreciate gem setting, like guilloche engraving and hand painted dials, as a part of watchmaking history.

Diamonds don't do a thing for me. I personally to do not find them masculine or manly, but if it floats your boat go for it. After all, it is your watch so wear what makes you happy.

If everyone were the same it would be really boring. Go for it if you want it, you can always go back.

I find the rhodium dial hard to see on sunny days.

Be manly; do what you like. I must add that I don't like them so much on stainless and only on PM models.

If I were to get a diamond dial watch, I prefer baguettes to round markers. The example above on the Day-Date looks great.

I once sat in a meeting with a few people and the lady opposite me was wearing several diamond rings, diamond bracelets, big diamond earrings and diamond necklace. Yes diamonds are a girls best friend but I didn't consider it classy.

Besides the post is asking about men ... no not on guys. Unless you are extremely sexy, wealthy and a fearless psycho, maybe a villain in a movie. Otherwise it's similar to driving a sparkly pink convertible car it doesn't matter that it's a Ferrari with the rarest fluffy feathers around the edges it's not manly

Manly watches in my mind would be large dial with solid bezel and chunky links on the bracelet.

Less is more

Classy is when you got it but don't flaunt it. Have the details and craftsmanship on the inside just like the engine to your car. The outside can look sleek, elegant and semi weird and ugly but big and strong like it could do damage not carefully embellished with pretty little sparkly diamonds details on it

One of the worst questions I've seen on this forum IMO. Real "manly men" dress and act as they wish with confidence, and don't care about other people's opinions of them, especially when it comes to style.

Is wearing a pink shirt not manly?

Asking this question is not manly.....

not for me, but I also consider drinking tea to be beneath a manly man.

Why would you bring back a 3 year old thread if it makes you cringe?

Well I meet all of your requirements except one (not a psycho).

Ok, I meet them all but I have no watches with diamonds.

However, I could kill for that DD with baguettes.

Fancy a drink sometime?

Ps. My wife read this and is

Guess I'm in the minority but I like the diamond dials, especially on Day Dates, not on Sport watches.

I'm typically not a fan of diamonds but manly or not is subjective. I would wear the Platona with diamonds on the dial in a heartbeat.

I don't think it matters when the question was posed, it's on a public Internet forum and the thread hasn't been closed. I saw someone asking for opinions to help them decide so I contributed my opinion

There's probably others that come across the forum with similar questions to the ones posted and might find the info/ideas etc in the replies useful

as a man with a DD and diamonds I have to admit:

1. the watch is rarely noticed BUT
2. the fact that my t-shirts are always tucked in IS NOTICED OFTEN
3. the fact that matching from head to toe is a MUST DO
4. the fact the PINK, SALMON AND CORAL are great colors on men (myself incl'd)

Just one man's opinion. lol

Ps. My wife read this and is

I would love to go for a drink but...

If you're a psycho then you'd probably chop me up into tiny pieces and bury in me ditch.

Or maybe your wife would kill me. (Then she'd go prison for manslaughter and I'd be dead so that's 2 women's lives you'd ruin)

So I'll pass on the drinks, it's a kind offer but I don't drink alcohol anyway

Maybe in another life
