Patek made changes to dials (many variations or “types”) on the 3700. Patek did the same on long running regular production Watches like the 3970. It’s interesting and adds to the collectability of one variation or another.

This version is clearly worth 125k. Patek should raise prices again

Quite so, the 5131R was only produced for 3 years and had 3 dial versions - 001, 010, 011.

Really?
5712/1A 001 is the current model, 001 designates dial version 1, have I missed something?

If you look at early version of 5712 (soon after 3712) they only have one single dot above the number "48" on power reserve corner. The latter version has two dots.

Ok, got you. 3712 has a similar variance with dots. I don’t think Patek calls them a different dial hence still 001 version for the 5712.

Thanks for this. Very interesting and reminiscent of Rolex mk x vintage patterns heh. Nice.

Because they changed the mainspring and thus the power reserve was incremented from 48 hours to 52. I remember that on an Italian forum it was said that during service PP used to replace the mainspring and the dial without asking for confirmation.

Personally I Prefer the old lettering without the flat space.

Date window upgrade with silver window frame would be nice.

And as Thomas says a clasp improvement would be welcome.

Oh My God! Oh My God!!
Paradigm shift.
I can't believe it.
Transformative!!! The old one will now be worth $1BN dollars! Even more rappers will be talking about it. Connor McGregor will get one. Oh help, oh help.
Where can I buy one? Where where? I've got my name down at every in American dealer at position 3, but they won't deliver in anything less than 10 years even after taking my Ferrari 250 GTO as a trade.
Can you help?
Will the dealer in Mogadishu have allocation? What If I apply for a job at PP in Geneva?

Please PM me.

Really minor changes that the average person will probably not even notice.

A grey dealer in London has a 5711/1A-010 with the new updated dial. Asking nearly £ 40K

It looks like the one on PP website is still showing older version. It will be very interesting to see how this will affect to the price on grey market

Pristine watches in London, they are asking £ 38995. The one the Watchcentre has is the old version and it has been there for a while now

Rolex, take your piddling chronergy escapement and pathetic 9001 movement and shove it. We know where true innovation lies!

It’s definitely a small detail, but I think it does look better.
