15400st blue, should I?

Hi everyone,

I have a chance to buy the 15400st blue, brand new from AD at retail. I am so tempted. I already have the silver dial version and I feel if I bought the blue sooner or later one would go...

i wouldn't. I like the silver the best out of the 15400's. I would get on a list for a SS 15202. Thats a great pair.

Thanks. I am on the list for the ss 15202, it's a year according to them. I don't know, for the 15400 blue it's like the one that got away for me and to have the off chance again, it's very tempting. On chrono24 they seem to be above list at the moment which is strange, last time I was going to pay £13500

Why not? The way the market is going you can probably get out of your white dial for a good price.

I prefer the blue on the 15400 to the 202 so I would.

I like the silver dial, thus I bought that. I’m like the others 15202 would be the choice but if you wanted the blue 15400 from the beginning, sell your silver dial. However, if you are also planning to get the 15202 later on then I would rather have the silver 15400 for variety.

The blue boutique dial, is hands down, the best dial for the RO. The way the sun hits the dial is truly incredible. I go through watches every few months, I have had my 15400st blue dial for over a year with no plans of trading. Worst case, if you don't like the dial you can sell it and make a few dollars.

I could flip and make a few dollars? Do they go for over list? I don't have any plans to get rid of my white / silver dial anytime soon, it's my favourite alongside the GS Snowflake. I could sell a couple of others I have and get the blue... I'm waiting to see if they still have it, not heard anything yet.

Yes sir. There is a pre-owned blue dial full set J series papers dated 7/2017 in excellent condition for sale right now on the forum for about $1,500 over list. Now, the other dial colors tend to sell for slightly less than list.

I'd do it! And personally, I like the 15400 blue more than the 15202 blue.

Is that genuinely a colour difference or is it the way the light is hitting the dial?

That shows the difference but the colours seem more exaggerated than normal, both are duller blues in reality most of the time.

I would grab the blue 15400. It sounds like you've wanted it for a while, so grab the opportunity. Whatever happens, you can sell either of your 15400's later if you want to without losing money.

I would not do the trade. I prefer the white dial for 15400. More dynamic and really *pops*. With an almost 3-D look in some case.

But it's true the 15400 blue is rarer and hence a bit more exclusive. Got with your heart what you really like.

There is definitely a color difference between the two. That’s not my picture (I just found it online) so I can’t confirm if the light or photo editing might be exaggerating both dials. It looked pretty good to my eye but it’s been a while since I’ve had a 202 on my wrist.

Agreed, He should have given you at least a short amount of time to think about it... Did he?
He probably just called everyone in his contact book and sold it to the first person to the shop or to give him credit card details on the phone.
I've no problem with him doing that but he should at least tell you that you need to answer him now or it could be gone to the next guy he calls.

Buy it, see which one you prefer and sell one if you wish. The blue will be worth more than you paid most likely worst case scenario. I had the silver 15400, dial was awesome. But blue rocks.
