I voted for Rose even though I own two steel. Looks like Rose is in my future.

No competition when you factor in market price... I went for the R even when the /A was $35K street..

This comparison is not apples to apples, it is apples to oranges.
The 5711 in SS has a list price of $29,8K. The list price of the 5711R has a list price of $51K. You are comparing the two because of the mark up on the 5711 by the grey dealers. You are paying a premium for the SS model, but not the Rose gold model.
I don't see it as a fair comparison.

If I was shelling out grey prices I would be getting the 5711r. If we are talking MSRP, I think the a.

Good choice that you pick the white gold Day-Date with the green dial.....

IMHO the rose gold on the Rolex is the worst...... I never like them.... Sorry Rolex fans....

The Patek Philippe rose gold is very nice unlike the Rolex rose gold......

You should try it..... And if it on the strap of a complications or grand complications, you will have no problem of wearing them..... Trust me you will love it......

Another nice rose gold that I have to admitted is Audemars Piguet but never a fans of their watches.....

I think his post is very accurate. Like you, I never thought gold worked with my skin, but the 5711r goes very well with it. Rolex doesn’t at all, and an all gold AP doesn’t either, though the gold bezeled AP’s I have look great, if I say so myself.

there is still a gap unless you are comparing the R at retail to the A at secondary prices.

IMO at these price levels you might as well get which you like best. Im not a metal snob at all so its about which one looks best.

Right, I can't understand why so many on here don't seem to know that the 5711/R is selling for $10,000-$14,000 over retail also.

It is higher here too, even after 2 price rises, but think the surging SS drowns out most other noise.

If I could get very top price now, I make a staggering 50% profit on my gold one. And I bought it hoping not to lose more than 20% as I got a very good price. Wow, all just upside down now.

5711r. For a solid gold piece but with the thinness and elegance of the 8mm case and delicate bracelet (versus the other models) - its insanely underrated.

Not gonna lie... went out to buy the stainless but when the rose fell into my lap I felt like the guy cheating on his girlfriend and quickly lost interest in the SS.

Agreed, Not a big fan of brown dials. Rose and brown really don't work for me at all. They should offer a silver dial option. In fact the blue dial would work on the rose.

I couldn’t disagree more. But taste is purely subjective

Brown and rose work, very much so. Patek and Rolex seem to agree. That said - a blue dial from the p would probably send me into a frenzy

I notices and wondered the same, tough one, none is worth the metal’s weight, none of the prices are rational, so it boils down to which one you like the most I guess.

I didn’t realize the RG was on the same rocket ship curve. I’d still rather the RG over the SS. But I’d rather have the platinum over both any day!

If you’re going to pay the same for either and you like the look of gold go for it, easy answer.
