Which DD40 should I pursue this year given the state of my current collection..

Of those that you present for potential selection in the pic, I would lean toward the YG diamond champagne dial...just to be a bit different from the RG Romans you already have. I like that you havd penciled in the Platinum DD40 model as I would thing that would be best and very different as well.

May I ask if you have considered the Platinum model with the ice blue dial? That would be great and very different as well, if you are going to stay with a President for your next choice.
Yes, also have the platinum model in mind.

Of those two, the diamond dial. Other considerations are the Roman silver dial YG, or as mentioned above, the platinum DD40. A pic of the latter for good measure.

Good to hear. I think that will differentiate / put enough spread in your collection. A little varience it always nice. I have thin wrists and am a bit older, otherwise I would have gone for a DD40 plat too.

How do you like the bezel on the platinum? True that it's a scratch magnet?

A lot of love for the diamond dial here.

Normally not into diamonds on a watch but these are so subtle.

I’m careful with it, but I don’t baby it. It has hairline scratches, but they don’t bother none. Don’t worry about it, it’s worth it, I promise.

Day Date 2018

I like the baguette markers. Also consider the new white gold dd40 with meteorite dial and diamond markers.

I think you need a white dial in your collection.

Not into the white dial.
Yellow Gold would be champ.
Plat would be ice blue diagonal motif.

If you like diamonds, this is another to consider, it was a close 2nd for me, but the motif / markers dial won. This is a beauty though (pic from Rolex site):

Platinum DD40, best watch i have acquired. It is not a scratch magnet at all. And if scratched, platinum just changes it’s form :D

You already have DD so you know many qualities of this fine watch, but platinum will give you some extra i would say.

If you’re stuck on adding another Rolex to your collection. I’d go with the Platimun as it adds a bit more variety and color to your collection.

If it were me, in that price range, I’d look at adding a Patek 5711 or AP 15202 if you can find them

PT is nice but I don't feel the bezel is very special. YG/Champ/Baguette would be my pick.

Not falling for any hype watches, saw a 5711 being offered today for 48K. I'll take a platinum dd40 over a stainless patek anyday of the wk. For 52 you can have a rg 5711.

I actually prefer the motif on the platinum over the baguette dial. Think you made the best choice.

Wow, the platinum dd40 really picked up steam. Beginning to dominate the poll.
