Thanks for posting. So they're confirming the bracelet cannot be switched out for an Oyster.

I just don't like the color of the bezel. The Blue can look purple, itjust doesn't look right to me.

Not really sure who at Hodinkee is writing the scripts for these videos, but they need some work.

Love it or hate it, this thing is going to be hard to get.

Yes and that was to be expected I believe. No way Rolex is going to let us switch between Jubilee and Oyster on a modern model. That flexibly flew the coop when they became a luxury goods company.

From another video the new GMT’s have a longer hour and minute hand than the previous versions.

TBH I do not like the so called blue and red in this model. These colors look weird to me

Common “complaint”. These colors approximate the original bakelite GMT bezel, not the aluminum one.

Other interesting factoids: Oystersteel is, as we thought, a new name for the same 904L steel they've been using all along; no actual changes occurred to the alloy in the re-naming of it. I was also interested in their description of the redesigned case sides and lugs on the GMT, indicating it's the manufacturing process that "gives the case sides extra shine and sharpens the lugs." That implies they didn't really change the proportions all that much. It looks like the new GMT is a refining of the super-case, rather than a redirection away from it.

It is nice but i can't help seeing it as pink-purple GMT. Looks like an effort to a faded ole GMT. I still like it but the unedited photos and real life feel of the bezel (seen the WG in real life) is nothing like the photos in the Rolex website. Again i repeat i like the watch and here is a photo with its TT brother which i really like.

Anyone notice that the two everrose models, the triangle at 12 on the GMT insert looked screwed up?

And wasn't the 116660 bracelet 21mm, not 20mm?

James Dowling posted a pic of the underside of the lugs. Anyone with a BLNR able to post a similar picture for comparisson?

You guys realize that these are crappy photos and videos that haven’t been color corrected and were shot in mixed light right?

There’s a good chance that nobody will get color accurate photos of these at Baselworld.

Here it is for those without instagram (on the top is 126710, on the bottom is a 116710 backside picture)

Honestly, I don't have a GMT but it looks SUPER similar on the underside at first glance to my Sub-C, and the 116610 and 116710 bracelets are interchangeable....so we will see

Those pins look high. Even moving them a millimeter or two would make the current endlinks unusable.

I hate to say it but I’d consider an aftermarket brushed oyster that someone designed to fit the new case “countermeasures”...

With the very tight tolerances of the SOL fitting to the case, only a .5mm change in position of the holes in the case compared to previous generation or a simple milling difference of the case would render the fit of a genuine oyster bracelet impossible. Eager to see the first picture with the jubilee removed from the case to see how it looks like under but I assume that if Hodinkee specifically stated it, they got the words straight from Rolex.

If it does...it will be an orphan Oyster which would not fit on any other watch.

But enough people have seen the current WG Pepsi to confirm the Pinkish red color, no?

If these bloggers were actual reporters they might think to ask if the new steel model’s bezel has the same colors as the white gold or if it has been changed subtly...

Assuming it’s unchanged then why even have this discussion? Most have seen the Pepsi WG in an AD no??

That is one ugly watch. The same problem with the ceramic Daytona , those elongated lugs . Im sorry but they just look terrible . That GMT looks cheep and nasty . If you owned one and ran into a guy with the BLRO , you would be the guy with the cheap and nasty GTM . I can't remember the last GMT master before it became the master 2 but it was a cheep and nasty looking watch too .
