Yes I think so, blue/red are the classic colors so it will be more sought after

Will the new GMT II Pepsi dial make the BLNR less desirable

Jubilee is ok, but personally I would prefere jubilee with a crown lock not the big oyster claps.
I hoped that would be an option but guess not since its still not an option on DJ41.

There has to be a lot of selling and absence of buyer pressure to convince greys to drop their prices, which like banks and interest rates, they are loathe to do, and that will not happen esp with the glacial pace release of the BLRO, so prices will probably just remain flat at where they are.

OK, I read Ariel and I think he means the 11 ref is discoed but will be replaced by the 12 ref next year from the context of his two sentences -

The new cases are very well finished and do indeed make for a slightly better experience than the outgoing generation of GMT-Master II watches. That also means the popular "Batman" black and blue bezel Rolex GMT-Master II 116710BLNR is now a discontinued model.

Personally I will keep the BLNR , & will add BLRO , BLNR will always be in demand , as the first rolex GMT with blue black bezel , think the hulk demand will slow down in favor of the BLRO
(I know they are different ) but from a color attraction point of view , that’s for me

Only time will tell. I think if the SS Pepsi BLRO was on the same PCL oyster bracelet then we could see some easing on the BLNR's demand. Personally I still think the black and blue is executed better in cheracrome than the blue and red is.

No. Watches always appeal to buyers for different reasons, and the BLNR will remain a strong value proposition. It is a great "all around" watch, although I have a love-hate relationship with the PCLs. With the Pepsi some online are already slamming a GMT being on jubilee, the clasp, and dial from the available pics. I think you really have to see the Pepsi in person.

Kind of room for both, although I think Rolex will be discontinuing the BLNR at some point rather than put the new movement in it. It had an extremely good run considering.

The jubilee glide lock on the new GMT is a game changer. If they do keep/upgrade the BLNR I wonder if they upgrade the oyster with GL as well. I’m seriously bummed the new jub with GL isn’t interchangeable with previous cases.

I don't think the new model will decrease BLNR desirability. The Black/Blue combo just works for most people.

Yes but the demand is so high for the Batman that it's not going to change much as far as the scarcity.

I'm sure we'll see a few people put up a used one to fund the Pepsi but the Batman will have its strong appeal. Plus, not everyone likes the Pepsi dial..especially the mainstream consumer.

Much easier to sell a Black and Blue watch than a $10k Blue and Red one to a mass market.

I think it will definitely take away the sales of BLNR. It's not just a GMT with a new Pepsi bezel & jubilee bracelet. It has a brand new 3285 movement with 70hrs power reserve.

Personally I've never liked the colour combo of the BLNR. I'm very attracted to the steel BLRO though and the jubilee plays an important part in it. Love the retro look.

Glide lock on the jubilee?
It's looks like jubilee with a standard oyster claps to me...same as on DJ41.
I would prefer the jubilee with a hidden crown lock .... what do others think about that? Maybe no big deal

Cheers

The article stated ......

"That also means the popular "Batman" black and blue bezel Rolex GMT-Master II 116710BLNR is now very likely to soon be discontinued (or perhaps updated) even though Rolex claims it will live side-by-side with the new 126710 GMT-Master II models."

To me this means the BLNR isnt going anywhere.

I know a lot of Rolex owners who just don´t know more than two technical details about their watches. The internet community is not the typical purchaser.
So I doubt that this will be reason.....the different bracelet and the "classic" colors may be though.
Hence I think the demand for the BLNR will decrease.....for the next few months

Just read the article. Looks like he’s edited his article to now say:

I don't think it will take much away from the BLNR, but the demand will absolutely be stronger for quite some time for the pepsi.
