Panerai GMT/Alarm (PAM 98) - Help!
For all you Panerai connoisseurs.....I have an opportunity to purchase the PAM 98 GMT/Alarm piece. I never owned a Panerai before. Do you think it is a good decision? Will this watch go up in value in the future? What is your opinion?

I'm sure most would agree, buy a watch that sings to you and forget about resell value.

Don't buy a watch on the premise that it'll go up in value. Buy a watch b/c you want it more than any other!

Lovely looking watch, great movement, limited run and it's a panerai, it might not go up in value that much but it should hold its value well. Whereabouts is the deal and what's the price?

I'm not 100% sure due to the mess up with the currencies just now, the 98 was produced for 6 years, with 500 a year being put out, so they're quite rare, they use the GP Cal 59 which is a lovely movement and they are a very striking example of a Radomir, at 42mm it's not overly large either, which can be a positive or a negative as the Radomirs come up a little smaller on the wrist. I guess it's a case of do you think this is a good price, for $6700 you'd get a decent enough watch, but it's also 4 years old and could be in need of a service soon, which is another $500 or so, and of course a month away, so when you put that into the price it's more like $7200, maybe even slightly higher, so is this watch good for the price, or is there better on the market?
