Like how the Aquanaut line continues to grow and at different price points.

Nope, thankfully for my wallet, I'm not convinced. There's still a scintilla of hope I could be swayed in-person but it's looking unlikely.

i want to see IRL too. No way its a replacement for my 5164. I prefer the 64, but this could be an in addition to piece. However odds are im still not a buyer. I really like it though.

I love it. The orange goes great with the chameleon dial. Not too sure about the 42.2 size though...I have small wrists.

I’m sure this will be a hit... but I’ll stick w my 5167. Size , orange accents, and price are a turn-off for me. And at that price point I’d rather get a 5712

The only thing that worries me is the size...Should be good but never seen the 5168 in person so there is some concern there....

Crap lol

It's going to have good size to it, but it's not going to be near a 42mm AP diver size wear wise...so I'd say 7 inch wrists and up will be totally fine, and probably even 6.8 ish.

Cant wait for this to get delivered.

Anyone know how the chronograph works? I read it has an hour counter but only see a minutes counter.

Patek website states "Chronograph with 60-minute and 12-hour mono-counter". I think it is a mistake as it only has a 60 minute counter

I really like the young and sporty design, but over $40K for a ss chrono on a rubber strap is a non-starter.

This one should have been $5K- $8K more than the 5167.

The travel time is already ~16k more. I can’t imagine a world where the in house chrono is priced below the travel time right?

5167 - 18k
5711 30k
5164 - 34k
5168G - high 30s
5712 40k

It think it fits it’s just Patek charges an arm and a leg for everything.

Not so sure I agree with the criticism of price based on the fact it’s stainless steel. It’s an in-house chrono from a premier brand with high collectibility. If anything the 5167 is underpriced.

As always with ridiculously expensive watches....it depends on supply!

Hmm, 42.2 eh? 40.8 fills in my wrist plenty nice. Another excuse to not get one.

I would imagine the new Chrono it would wear smaller than the 5168G because it has a much thicker case - the 5168G feels like a dinner plate as it's wider but also super thin like the 5167.

The 42mm diameter probably balances out the 11.9mm thickness, which is not bad for the automatic chrono movement.

The orange hand and markers will certainly polarize a lot of people - either you love it or hate it. Patek is probably attempting to reach a certain audience with the orange coloring on a sports watch.

I'd like to see it in person, but at first glance, I like it! But at $43k??? I'm liking my 5164. Agree that 5167 has got to be going through the roof soon...

I think the Aquanaut Chrono is a smart move by Patek to target customers who are looking to move up from Rolex and AP sports models.

I like the look, but prefer the plain 5167.

I can’t get over the price on this one- makes zero sense. I suppose it is a market grab at the hot SS that we are seeing across the board right now. At the same time, it truly devalues the other aquanaut models. IMO the 5164R seems like the best deal in the world right now- I suppose those discounts are now gone.

I texted my AD 2 weeks ago, if there is an aquanaut chrono i want it. I called yesterday once it was confirmed and no one else had called. By the end of the day they had received five calls. I think it will be popular.

Definitely prefer the 5164 even without factoring in the price.
