The only think linking this new model to the old is the brown portion of the bezel. The original Root Beer had a light brown dial and either all brown, or brown and yellow bezel. Not a black dial and black and brown bezel.

I’m calling this the espresso....even if nobody else does

I agree 100%. When I saw it I thought "I wonder what nickname they will come up with for this". Just as Kermit and Hulk are different, this isn't a Rootbeer imo...

Well it’s dark and brown...I’m going with espresso. I’d say ‘dandelion and burdock’ but I don’t think many folks would know what that is. Also it’s less catchy.

It was and always will be the Root Beer! Maybe Root Beer Ceramic, but Root Beer none the less!

Absolutely the ugliest watch I’ve ever seen, anyone with taste will not bother calling their AD to inquire about this abomination! But....it’s not the same colours as the root beer! It’s in rose gold for a start, and it’s black and brown, not yellow and brown. I don’t think this really qualifies as simply a ceramic reissuing of the root beer.
