Cartier discount
I was looking to surprise my wife for our anniversary with a Datejust but my AD hasn’t come through. She has expressed interest in a Cartier tank, how much of a discount is appropriate to ask for a non Cartier store? I have zero experience with the brand but last time I was at the AD with her she mentioned it and my salesman said oh we can help you on that unlike Rolex where prices aren’t flexible.
The Santos’s has peaked my interest to the point where I am almost curious if they will bundle discount with me |

WOS in the UK state that Cartier is a "protected brand" so no discounts. Other AD's do though apparently but very minimal. All the best

Thank you, yeah I didn’t want to ask my AD and be way off base but he mentioned it when I got my sub last year. I assumed at the Cartier store locations there is no discount but I guess the AD’s have wiggle room

Cartier is hot right now. I’d be somewhat surprised if you received anything but a relationship always helps.
I think 10% would be strong and at the end of the day I would be fine paying retail on a lot of Cartiers.

I have been looking seriously at the Cartier Santos also and it seems pricing is very tight which suggests increased popularity compared to a year ago. Most likely I am going to purchase very soon and am willing to pay MSRP if necessary. If I am able to have it discounted 5-10% I wold be extremely happy.

0% discount at Mayors. 0% at Cartier stores too.

It was my partners 50th 2.5 years ago
I’d done my research - had pictures of online prices & went into the local AD in Glasgow. The usual - we don’t discount etc. I showed them my pictures/ said I was in to buy at right price. She goes off to speak to her manager & from memory the price came down 400/ 500 quid. That saving covered her birthday lunch with her family They can only say No if you ask Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nothing in Geneva plus little inventory. However, great greys in Florida that got me the Santos limited edition I was looking for at -5%. Not great discount but happy I got what I wanted.

Depends on the model. Blanket percent off especially nowadays on anything popular isn't going to be the norm

Ask your AD. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I was recently told no wiggle room on stainless steel pieces but they could throw in an extra strap as a “gift”. They also had little inventory in stock but said it should not take too long to get a Santos.

There’s nothing to read into. Cartier has a rich history in watches and many iconic designs at very accessible price points relative to Rolex. They surpassed omega recently in sales if I’m not mistaken. Quality isn’t the same on the lower end sure but many can’t tell the difference and you cant argue with icons like the santos and tank. Nerds like Erick ku have been boosting the crash at the other end of the spectrum. Then you have the CPCP stuff too.

Sounds variable based on location. I was told (very firmly) no discounts when purchasing from Birks 5 months ago.

Can you get a better discount if you step up to a gold Cartier? I'm thinking pretty hard about the Tank Louis Cartier in rose gold. It's $13,500 MSRP in the US. I'd really appreciate some feedback from the pros as I've never purchased a Cartier either.

Always depends on the AD. From mine, I was given 10% off a Santos last June. I think mine is still offering a slight discount, but Cartier is getting hotter in the market.

I had no idea there are Cartier ADs. In CA it's mostly boutique so was never able to get discounts.
