Incoming - Yes at Retail from AD
Hello Fellas, I wasn't sure if I would get this piece at all since everything I always read here so I never put that much effort into the possibility of owning this watch and the grey market price is absurd IMO. But got a call from my AD yesterday. Made the purchase ($14.4K).
I will pick it up Tuesday since I'm out of town. Definitely will try to post some pictures unboxing and on the wrist. As much as I would like to say where I purchased it, I cannot per AD Owner's request. I would definitely like to share some pointers as per our many conversations, they might be redundant but maybe can help you score the watch you want: Numero Uno: Start a relationship with your AD and Yes purchase other items that non watch related. They love when you buy jewelry too! I will quote: "Don't tell me that a guy who spends 10-20k on himself can't make purchases for his wife or girlfriend..." If he's single he's out of luck I guess? HAHA It's been many Christmas, Anniversary & Birthday gifts. I must say we've developed a relationship beyond a transaction. Two: "You must live in my market" and many AD's will vet! He has no list. "There are only opportunities" & he doesn't believe in lists anyways. He told me the story of how he had recently sold a ceramic Daytona to a customer that had never bought a watch before but was a 15+ year customer of his store and largest purchase was about 1k. I found that amazing and refreshing to hear. Three: Attitude is very important. If you take your frustration to the AD chances are you'll be labeled as "one of those guys". There might be a good possibility that you might know more about the watch you want than the salesperson but have patience & don't snap! Being nice will get that watch on your wrist as soon as the opportunity comes. Anyways, hope you all enjoy your weekend very much and I didn't bore you with my writing! |

Congrats and I agree...attitude goes a long way. ADs have the responsibility of treating customers fairly/with respect...but if you go in with the entitled I am king mentality/attitude....naturally people will be less inclined to help.
