Ran my first 100km week, next week I'll do the exact same. Then taper off the distance a bit to get ready for my race

CONGRATULATIONS Bas!
That’s quite an accomplishment

Any time goal(s) for race pacing?

Frame that race shirt & medal buddy - then practice your cursive signature; I still want your autograph :)

I don't have a time goal, my goal is to finish without dying.
Time goals are for 24hr track, not trail running with several thousand meters of elevation. (unless one wants to win Western states 100 or UTMB)

Oh wow!

Congratulations, Bas!

I walked for half an hour the other day

I started Tae Kwon Do though, and i'm loving it.
Husband started a few weeks earlier. I'm catching up.

Still very sore from Saturday, but i think it's great.

Great instructor too!

Yeah...that’s a worthy goal.

To paraphrase an old comic strip - it’s amazing what lengths people will go to to get a $5. T-shirt

Is there a rumor going around that the Rolex Sub may be coming out in steel and everose in Basel 2019?

We were in Miami got back yesterday, was burning hot. In Orlando now and it's still hot. Michelle went up to Canada last night and is in a balmy 44F.

I'm really hoping for a platinum sub on the 75th anniversary. Only 10 years to go.

Bas, those are some impressive mileages but are you not concerned that maybe in later life they may come back to haunt you. I say this because a friend was what you would call an extreme athlete in his late teens and twenties and now in his fifties he has had numerous operations to replace/mend various joints that have worn out due to his excessive running/physical activities.

I checked my numbers this morning and didn't even hit one single nunber

As I was doing a " pout " right after I checked ...... I heard my little one waking up and calling for me and with his voice I knew I was still a WINNER today!!!

YAY

‘Guess’ you are a winner indeed :)
As far as I’m concerned you, SG & DM are in a MUCH better lottery of sorts for that Daytona.

Chad, I’d love to see a blue SS Sub in my lifetime or Tudor downsizing some of their professional models 35-37mm. One can only wish...right?
I’d love to hear how you got into Triathlon’s - did you say 17 earlier?? Wowza!!

A Sasquatch costume it is Bas...then shed the layers as the race merits

Art, you & Michelle must be living the life w/all your travels. Lots of varied clothes for all the temp extremes I bet...Lol

Somewhere in SC there is a happy dance taking place. One single winner last night...

Hmmm...Chad, have you anything to share?

Life is extremely short and we try to have fun. We have appropriate clothing in both places, don't need to take things back and forth. Sometimes I'm looking for something and realize it's in the other place. In two weekends we are going to a Rolex event in Ontario, will try to get some pics.

The AD I’ve purchased from has their watch fair this weekend. Noticeably, the mailed fliers had no pics of Rolex and their 2 billboards have shown only Patek since Christmas

Yeah maybe, but I'd rather have worn out joints at 50 then regrets of never running the races I want to run.

100km is a relatively short distance in this ultra running world, I'm still very young and I think I have a long journey of beautiful races to go. If that shortens my life or damages my joints, so be it.

I hear ya Bas, keep running. I was in very competitive wrestling for 12 years, was an undersized quarterback and got my brains beat in and threw way to many baseballs in from right field. Every morning I feel it. But I keep going. And all the memories are there. It all shaped me as a person. Made me tough. So, keep running!!!
