I’m a HUGE Filson fan. I have three duffles and the padded computer case, all in otter green. The more you bang em up, the better they look.

Briggs & Riley!
First company that came to mind when I read the thread title.

When I’m in an airport, I usually catch myself taking notice of two (material) things. Watches and Briggs & Riley.

How’s their clothing line? Great looking bags indeed! They just opened a retail store close to where I live.

I don’t have any of their clothing. I’ve wanted to buy a few flannel shirts but I live in Phoenix and wouldn’t wear them too often. I guess it does get cold enough here in the winter.

Well I guess I’m buying some flannel shirts!

i swore off rolex for the last decade to it not being able to handle what i did without getting vibrations, having issues and needing service. happened 2-3x in a few years on an old sub i got as a wedding gift 15 years ago. fast forward a decade later, i sent it in for another service to get it ready for a decade in the safe til the boy graduates college. for the hell of it i picked up an everest rubber band to see how it looked when i got it back.

i still love the look, but that baby is in the safe waiting for the boy as was decided. i'm gonna snag a couple new ones in the sea dweller line and we'll see if the new stuff can handle what my seamaster PO's have been dealing with for the last decade. i'd love to have some experience that puts rolex in the 'reliable' category...

adding here:
filson
Toyo LC
fisher ag7 pen
zodiac + yamaha outboard
pelican boxes have done me right
spyderco in H1
wiggy sleeping bags

I don’t think anyone mentioned the Kent hair comb. One of the most basic and inexpensive items but I’ve had mine for 20+ years and use it every day. Handmade, and develops a warm patina. A daily item just like a Rolex, but on the other end of the cost spectrum.

This.
Somebody above mentioned paying attention to two things in airports: Watches and Briggs & Riley.

Being active in the aviation industry (and not owning a GMT but a couple of DJ`s ) I spend my fair time at airports aswell. The two things I try to spot at airports are Rolex and Rimowa. I for myself own the polycarbonate `Salsa`Multiwheel-version due to its lightweight, but especially the alluminium classics/topas are very durable and beautiful.

I could not believe it when I read every trolley consist of more then 200 spare parts.

Porsche is ranked #2 behind Lexus in overall reliability. I have over 2 decades in 911 ownership and they have been bulletproof.

Briggs & Riley - I thought I was the only one but it just won't die!!!

Being made in China doesn't instantly make something terrible quality. I don't have any experience with their metal goods or plumbing/faucets, but the dining set we have is about 10 years old now, and it's still beautiful.

As with everything, I guess: Your results may vary...

Toyota.

My gen 1, gen 2, gen 3, and gen 5 4Runner approve this message.

My dad’s gen 3 Runner with 512,480 miles still on original engine and transmission and only having to replace battery, alternator, upper control arms, and an 02 sensor during the last decade does too.

Saddleback Leather - not the most elegant leather company, but everything I have from them is absolutely bombproof.

Filson

Allen Edmonds

Wusthof

Klean Kanteen - it’s odd to say this but my large klean kanteen is probably my favorite possession. That thing has gone everywhere with me for a decade now, and it certainly looks like it.

Ecco golf shoes

Stormy Kromer hats

Red Wing boots

Lodge cast iron

I really like simple and sturdy items that just last, no matter what you throw at them. I think that’s why a lot of WIS are the way they are. They grow attached to items that are dependable, whether it be a wallet or a watch.
