First purchase - which one, or just both?

These are the two watches I'm torn between. I love the strong, dare I say, chunky, look of the Daytona. I'm a working mum with a 3-year old, so my every day watch should probably come first. But then there's the rose gold, and flowers, and diamonds, and I melt. I'm thinking for dinners and theatre nights, this would be so elegant and beautiful. I might be able to get both, but I'd love your input just FSAG. What would you do (if you're female) or advise your wife/ girlfriend to do (if you're male)?

I would tell her to get whichever one she likes better. I would lean toward the DJ but that's me.

My wife would want the RG one with flowers for sure. She did just get the SS/black dial/fluted bezel and loves it. 36mm so A little bigger for a traditional women's watch.

Really boils down to your style.

I know my wife would love that DJ (even if a bit on the larger side for her wrist) while she would find the Daytona completely unappealing.

If you love both. Get the one you think you like more first and then work your way to get the other one at some point.

If you are going to buy it and keep it than pick the one you like best. If you plan to flip it someday I'd go with the Daytona. That datejust probably has a smaller fan club than the Daytona. The Daytona will appear to men and some women, the Datejust is only going to appeal to women. The cost of those two choices have a pretty big spread.

I personally love the look of a Daytona on a woman. I'll vote for the Daytona.

Normally I would say the Floral. But a female wearing a Daytona is a statement piece/sexy! I hope your significant other has a watch of similar caliber... LOL!!

I was at an open home recently and the lady showing us around was wearing a RG datejust very similar to that - it looked incredible!

My wife has a SS/RG 31 mm DJ with the same diamond bezel although with a different dial and oyster bracelet, but she wears it daily and it looks great on her. It sounds like that one is the one you are preferring.

Her wrist is too small to carry 40 mm but the Daytona would be the second addition in my opinion in your case.

Be sure to post incoming pictures later!

As the saying goes, if you can, then you must! Get both. I also have a 3 year old, it's the 116710BLNR.

You must get what YOU like. If I was choosing dj all the way, I am not fond of the oversized watch look on women, but that is just me.

I'd get the Daytona first for everday and then save and add the RG flowers for the more formal occasions as you have outlined, good plan. Or you could combine the two.

I don't see why that DJ can't be an everyday watch.

daytona, easy. That DJ isn't my favorite form of ladies watch. Though I would definitely support the yacht master in everrose gold from basel 2015...not that it's an option lol.

Something about the Daytona just seems to natural on a women's wrist. I would go with the Daytona for sure.

Daytona. I bought it for me but lost that battle. Once I saw the look I didn't resist. Earned me browny points, too. The Daytona is somehow very feminine and I can't explain why. 36mm Datejust also wears well as a unisex item especially one with diamond hour markers. That is what the better half says is next and I shall comply.

Just from what you wrote I think you really love the Datejust and you also like the Daytona but you think it's a more practical choice. Base on that you should get the Dayjust first if you are only going to buy just one for now. A luxury watch is a matter of the heart always get what you love. But of course get both if you can swing it, you should be able to negotiate a better price if you get both at the same time. Happy shopping.

I personally prefer to see my girl with no flower. Hate watch that is cutesy. Especially on a grown up. Most of time if see woman with that floral Rolex, I think she got no taste. She is not little any more and from now on never will be. She needs to face that reality. That is my opinion.

That floral Rolex, to me, is meant for rich family girl that daddy bought for her before 18.

Daytona, but a white, silver or champagne dial would suit a woman much better than the black.
