Now, who likes apple sauce or sour cream with theirs? Let the debate begin!

I'll never forget having the opportunity in elementary school to make these as a class with our teacher, Mrs.Wolfman. Such fond memories and my preference was sour cream

Yes they are, sprinkled with a little salt. But in the States we have them either dipped in sour cream or apple sauce. Both are very good but I prefer the sour cream with the savory flavor of the potatoes mixed with fried minced onions and cracked pepper.

My mother hated making them when I was a kid because the house stunk of fried potato oil for a week

Thats funny. I always loved the smell. My mother, wife and sister moved the frier’s out onto the patio (in Scottsdale, Az) where they make them now so the house wont smell. Hah!
