16520 bracelet

Would it be possible for a U9 serial 16520 to come originally with a SEL bracelet? It has tritium dial and hands. Thanks

As an educated guess it could have slipped out from the factory like that being it was during the transitional phase. I’m sure the experts on here will chime in.

Check the clasp code. it should have a single letter if it is original - such as T, V, U, Z or possibly X. If the clasp has two letters, it would be from 2000 on up and has probably been replaced with a newer bracelet which would probably be one with solid end links.

What bracelet is it?

The 116520 in 2000 introduced solid links, and the billet clasp with EZ link 78490 bracelet.

The last bracelet for the 16520 was the 78390 w/polished centers, and the 78390A with SEL.

Good question. it might be possible but looks quite rare if it did occur. In 1998, the flush end links SS 78390 bracelet was replaced with the 78390A with SELs. I say “possible” because there are a very small amount of U-serial “Swiss Made” luminova dials so why couldn’t the opposite occur with the SEL bracelet w/ tritium dial?

A U9 serial is pretty late though and I’m surprised it didn’t come with a luminova dial.
