My newly acquired and non-Rolex...

Anonimo Polluce 2003 Bronze

This Anonimo is a special edition and was made to celebrate the discovery of Polluce off the coast of Italy. Only 149 pieces were made and entire case is made of Aluminum Bronze alloy. Way Cool!!

In time, the case will change color and darken to give a nice patina.

Okay, even Wikipedia is stumped on that one.

What's "polluce"?

Edit --
NEVERMIND:
Quote:
Anonimo, the official watch of CNS (Cooperativa Nationale Sommozzatori) the famous Italian diving company, has developed the Polluce diving watch worn by CNS divers in partnership with Marine Consulting Srl. This watch commemorates the successful discovery of the Polluce Steamer ship that sank in 1841 in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the coast of Tuscany. Sanctioned by the Italian Government to recover the gold bullion treasure valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars, CNS divers continue their long- standing partnership with Anonimo to provide actual diving experiences that test our diving watches in real underwater conditions. The CNS partnership has been the foundation of our ability to create and manufacture authentic professional diving watches that can only be certified after facing actual under water experience. This partnership allows Anonimo to collect data and review the performance of each watch actually worn by CNS divers in the continual effort to improve the performance of our diving watch tradition. The partnership has been responsible for the development of Anonimo Models Professionale 200 ATM, Hi-Dive 121 ATA, and Polluce 121 ATA.
