Supposedly there is a difference in the font and dial. I think the older combo comes with a bolder font of red where it says Yacht-Master. Also I think the platinum dial is much more sparklier as well.
The newer version has a flatter platinum dial and less pronounced "Yacht-Master". I don't know the exact details but I'll let the experts weigh in on this. Just my 2 cents
