15400 too big?
A few days ago I bought a Rolex Datejust 116234. This watch has a diameter of 36mm. I was not too sure whether I was going to get used to this very small diameter, but I made the gamble. I never really liked very large watches and this seemed like a nice addition.
Now, a few days later I am loving the size. It is just great. However, when I put on my 15400 it just seems too big. I have found a very nice 39mm AP RO dual time with blue dial (really like the blue dial). I am thinking more and more of exchanging my watch for the smaller version. What are your thoughts?

I think the AP you have already, suits and fits your wrist better.
There's nothing to say you can't mix it up, size wise, but if you prefer the smaller version or think the current one won't get worn enough to justify keeping, then go for it – it is you, after all, that has to wear it. Even against the 39mm AP, the Rolex looks just alright, but might suit/look a better choice depending on your attire for the day/evening – so we're back to where it's perfectly acceptable/normal to have a big difference in sizes, to choose from. |

personally, I think the 15400 is off proportionally and I prefer the smaller model 15300. But im a small wristed guy.

I think they all look good on your wrist.
No issue having some size and shape variety in the collection! |

15300
My wrist is 21cm or 7.9" in old money. I have a 15300 which i really like with the blue dial. I tried on a 15400 and just felt the proportions worked better on the 15300 for me.
I'm happy wearing a PAM233 so it really comes down to the individual wrist and your preferences. |

If the 36mm is not too small the 39mm seems a better pair, otherwise it will jar every time you switch as the 41 wears like a 43mm.

It is your brain playing tricks with you, if you go from smallest to largest watch in your collection in one go it will always feel that way. Within 2 days you cant remember the difference. I expect from 36mm Rolex to a 39mm AP it will still feel big and I should know as I have both. Wear the AP for a week or more straight, at the end of the that time if it looks too big sell it. I am not a fan of big watches generally and the AP is my biggest but after a few days of wearing it I love it.
