Help with an i.d. please
Hello all.
I'm trying to research a watch that I have in hand and I'm not finding much info about it. It is a 40 year old ref 1503 Date, 18K YG, but the case is 36mm not 34mm. I have heard (unsubstantiated) comments about this being a European market model but I can't confirm this info...so hoping the braintrust here has some detail? TIA |

Internet lore...
Okay as Toronto Soup King stated...pictures of EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of this watch are going to be required...photos of between the lugs, photos of inside the caseback. Photos of a micrometer showing the diameter of the case. Photos of micrometer measuring between the lugs 20mm. Photos of the receipt stating that the watch WITH MATCHING SERIAL NUMBER to the case you have...is a 1503 DATE in 18k yellow gold. Original Warranty paper stating that the said case is 1503 matching the serial number on the case and the serial number of the movement would be quite helpful. If anyone kept the receipt they kept the warranty and timing cert. The issue I have is...no one in the Rolex service industry would know what to do with this watch because none of the parts would work. The diameter of the dial will be wrong. The date indicator seating ring will be wrong. The crown and tube will be wrong. Gaskets will be wrong. Crystal will be wrong. Everything will be wrong. |

Are you measuring the case width including the crown, or without?
