Going to NY looking for a watch place to visit
Team,
Going to NY for business. Could you help and direct me to a reputable Rolex selling (used) place? Thank you, M |

Buy used from one of the reputable people on TRF. There are some good used Rolex shops in NY, but you will not get a good deal and you will have to pay tax unless you have it shipped out of state. I would not consider buying used at either Tourneau or Wempe - they will charge top dollar.

I just got back from NYC 2 weeks ago, I was in Manhattan. The used watch prices are very high; to the point where I didn't even bother to counter offer. There are a lot of places to look at watches but there doesn't seem to be any deals there.

I think The difference in sales tax in NJ vs NYC is 1.875% or $188 on $10,000. If you're just looking to try on there's Tourneau & Wempe in midtown & theres William Barthman downtown by Wall St.

Some places offer to mail it back to your residence to save on taxes but only do it with a reputable store.

NYC is awesome to browse around but buying watches there (Unless your from overseas) is expensive. There is a high tax. Check out the tourneau store its fun to walk up and down.

Tourneau and Wempe are good to use for try-ons but no deals to be had there- and stay away from the 47th street grey shops -their prices are equal or higher than most AD's
