Not a fan of 5130 but love the Lange 1 Time Zone so Lange all day long!
PS The Patek WT to own is the 5110 P they ruined it IMHO with the 5130! Lost the guilloche dial and the great hands.

Between these two I would take the Patek in a heartbeat. 24hr time vs. GMT? It's an easy choice.

Both are STUNNING timepieces and my opinion is just my personal 2 cents.
Lange looks beautiful but to me within the lines of the Lange products, while the Patek offers a unique design that has only increased it's price over the years. Both beautiful and In the end it has to be something YOU like, but to me Patek not only songs to me...it SEDUCES me. |

Next to the ALS, that PP looks very ordinary, and a bit too busy.
That's not to say the ALS isn't slightly messy, but it isn't offensively so, and manages to get away with it. Date (even if using the old JLC different height wheels) is a winner, as well as the PR indicator. I really don't get the exaggerated Breguet style hour hand on the PP – it almost looks like a monocle, which might be fine if it had a magnifying effect. Since it doesn't, then it's a "lost in translation" design. |

I'm a huge Lange fan, but the Time Zone is not one of my favorites. Having said that, given these two choices, I'd still take the Lange, the size and layout of the 5130 just doesn't do it for me. In addition, with the TZ you have a platinum watch which is tough to beat.

Neither
Neither one is much good as a true travel watch, but do fine as a phone around the world watch.
If only Lange had made the main dial "local" time and the small dial "home" time I would have bought one when it came out. |

prefer the classic size of the Patek along with the 240 movement.
the Patek can be a bit hard to read. i am not a fan of the unconventional Lange dial layout.

Tough call.
I'd probably go Lange based on the unique layout, grande date, and case material. Can't lose either way here. |

These two brands are the best that's out there TRF (with all love to FPJ AP VC JLC Breguet/ Blancpain and of course ALL OF OUR FAVORITE - THE LOVEABLE ROLEX). So given the choice which would you buy ? - neither or hating one or the other or loving both is not the point- YOU are forced to buy one ... so.... which one ? VOTE!!!

I own three Pateks and one ALS.. and you picked the same one I own.. So for me --- and this particular comparison. ALS… it is a gorgeous piece. I agree the ALS is not a great travel watch. I thought it would be but I rarely wear it out of town. I have other watches for that.. PP 5164 or a Muhle Glashutte GMT

I can't say that I'm a big fan of that particular Patek. The Lange on the other hand is to die for! This is a no brainer for me. Go for the LANGE!!!!

The Lange Time Zone is one of the best looking world timers IMO. My favorite WT for sure

The Lange is too big IMO, I'd get the Parek but like Ken mentioned, the 5110.

Between those two I prefer the Patek. For about the same money though, I like the VC World Time even more:

I've been on a Patek kick lately so I'll vote that one however. I think I'm going to buy this next: Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum.
