I would have to agree on the swiped date. Seems to make perfect sense to me.

Does this mean an increase in price aswell?

This is confirmed for France, and supposedly for the whole Europe. I don't have this information for the US.

Visited my AD today, and they know nothing of the change in warranty (I'm a valued customer there). But they said if that turns out to be the case, since there's a 90 day return period on my watch that they will re-ring the purchase after July 1st for me.

If this is true, my guess is that Rolex is doing this to outdo Omega, and to make grey dealers' stock less attractive as compared to new AD stock.

That's all fine, but to me, if a new watch is going to have warranty issues, it seems that such issues will make themselves known fairly quickly. If that's correct, I personally don't see a five-year warranty as a reason to forsake a purchase from a grey dealer. To me, the significant savings outweigh the risk of the shorter warranty.

Just my opinion; your mileage may differ.

For the UK I've seen someone dispute the following when calling St James however it was back in June 2015 when the rumour broke.

All watches sold from July,1 2013 to June,30 2015 will get an extra one year warranty extension

Does anybody know (particularly UK) if the above is true? I am selling a 2014 watch and a buyer has quizzed me. I cant find anything on the Rolex website

Yes. Essentially Rolex gave an additional year to all watches that were under factory warranty as of 7/1/15. The service warranty continues to be two years.
