I am curious as to what water column pressure gradient is used for determining test pressure. I assume the water depth ratings are for seawater the density of which varies with salinity from location to location and within the water column itself. It of course could be that you simply dial in the depth and the test pressure is determined by the test machine software.

I was always curious how watches are loosing their WR it happens overnite or gradually what s the most common case ,gaskets drying out or something else?thanks

Thank you for sharing these pictures and information. It's really cool to see what happens on the inside of rolex. My 16013 datejust is at the Dallas rsc here in the United States. Do they use the same equipment and perform the same tests?

I would have thought that a leak in the case would result in the case being filled with water, not just a little moisture. Especially at the highest pressures.

Rubber gaskets drying and the crystal gasket is made of some kind of nylon which will go brittle after some years when being exposed to UV light.

A big leak yes, but an imperfection in a rubber gasket is also a leak and this is not acceptable.
