A Couple of Pics of my GMT IIC and Yachtmaster

Here are a couple of pictures of my newly acquired GMT IIc and Stainless/Platinum Yachtmaster. I am thinking of selling the YM so I can buy a Stainless Daytona. What do you think?

If you ask me personally, it's a bad idea. I would much rather keep the beautiful Platty as opposed to a Daytona.......but whatever floats your boat.

Cheers - JJ

Come on now, Joe. That YM of yours looks like a million greenbacks. Keep it.

I'd keep the YM: it has a more understated dial.

I'm in the same boat, except I have a 34 mm stainless steel Date and ladies YM in ss/platinum. I am seriously considering flipping the YM for a two-tone Sub, Daytona or YM. I think it all comes down to how much wear you are getting out of it and if you can live without it.

The YM doesn't scream Rolex, it's a very quiet sophisticated watch, I just wish mine was midsize and it was two-tone.

Hey Joe:

Those are great pics of two beautful watches.
I have always wanted a Yachtmaster but I WILL NOT get one until they update the clasp to the calibre of the new GMT clasp. Since you own both already, could you please kindly give us a quick review of both of those clasps.

I'm sure many members here would like to hear your testimony.
Thanks.

The clasp on the GMT IIc is an upgrade with a cleaner look. I hate to say this but I actually prefer the clasp on the YM. For some reason the YM fits tighter on my wrist. My AD has tried taking out a link in my GMT IIc and move the setting on the clasp. It is either too tight or just a bit looser than my YM. The clasp on the YM has more adjustments. I guess that is why it seems to fit my wrist.

I hope this helps.

I'm not a Daytona fan either and think the Platty is simply too nice to sell/trade anyway.

Keep them both they look fantastic

I agree with JJ. I've been wearing my new platinum YM and can't conceive of selling it. There is nothing like this watch. I DO think the Speedmaster is one sexy watch however. But if you can conceive of parting with it, do so and get something you can't part with :)

I agree with the top 4 posts. Keep it and save for the Daytona. The Plat YM was the one I wanted when I was around 15 but when I finally saved enough money to buy a Rolex, I went with the Daytona and love it. I think right now is a good time to buy a SS Daytona since the mkt is sliding. Once it hits bottom, the prices for Daytonas are gonna climb again.
