Opinions on refinished 6542
Hi Guys,
Would love to hear your opinion on this refinished 6542. Also note that the bezel and insert are aftermarket parts. Thanks https://wannabuyawatch.com/product/r...9-copy-photos/

I would recommend that you find a correct GMT - probably a model 1675.
The 6542 is a creation of parts- which is what it will always be.

Yip ...
I'm not sure where a 'SWISS MADE' dial fits within the 6542 dial hierarchy ... am I mistaken or does it slot right in at the fakee end ? And those hands
I'm good with full gilt SWISS only dials, matte SWISS <T25 dials, and for a lucky few, the gilt service dial ( I forget the lume notation on that one). I don't seem to recall a SWISS MADE dial in the legit. 6542 range. Insert is nothing more than a $200 replica item and fairly realistic brass replica bezels can be found from about $300 6542s are so difficult to bring back to original specs - there's enough replica parts in that one for it to be a very expensive franken / homage item for me |
