Patek Philippe World Time dual is wrong!!? [5930, 5230 others]
Hi all,
Was looking at these two watches and decided to look closely at the cities for a change (not sure everyone does). It is wrong. I checked New York and Los Angeles — the latter is THREE full hours behind New York. However, on the dial, “L Angeles” is about 1.75/2 hours behind in placement, whereas its placement should cleat be at a ‘ninety degree angle’ behind New York. (Never the DST issue for six months of the year, for now.) What gives?! What am I missing? Oooor is the inner city wheel rotatable? If yes, OK. But why do alllll the examples on PP and AD sites show this so blatantly wrong? Watch dial example where New York is a little past 9 o’clock so Los Angeles should be a little past 6 o’clock. Not even close?! Last edited by phdezra; 16 February 2021 at 07:20 PM.. Reason: time example |

You have been asking for it... 3h behind out of 24h is 45 degrees rather than your 90 degrees. And the short black marker for LA is exactly 45 degrees and 3h behind the short white marker for New York. Nothing to worry about than your own head, all in good fun...

New York City is indeed three hours ahead of Los Angeles, as indicated by the 24-hour ring.
In your example that you've posted, NYC is at 0508, while LA is at 0208. |
