They won’t show it to us yanks, I did get a still photo of it though.
I have a similar watch. I think think they overvalued it just a bit. Cool find and thanks for sharing.

I watched the episode last night & what a great back story for the family and they all seemed genuinely surprised at the valuation . Let’s hope it stays in the family .

The family's reaction is wonderful.

Strange that the appraiser didn't mention the significance of the gilt dial, or the crown guards - maybe something got lost in the edit. He also called the bracelet a strap...

Looks like it's on a more modern 93150 bracelet now, but the guy still has the original 7206 bracelet.

That is a fascinating episode.

I look at a couple of my 60s subs and I’m sure they went through hell or at least some dangerous adventures. It’s a pity that the history is lost on them. I think of the watches that went through wars or battle, these young guys wearing them home.

It’s rare that the details of this diver’s risks became known. He seems to have logged his missions which is quite remarkable.

Judging by the families reactions I think they will keep the watch. The son seemed rightly very proud of his dad and you could see he loved the watch because of that.

Yeah, he hit the 7206 note a few times but there was more of a story to tell for the AR audience about other significant facets of this one... BTW could the estimate be a bit light? this is a really juicy provenance IMHO, not celebrity or anything but really well documented...

Great story, and congrats to the family on a great family piece. I'm sure they won't sell but unfortunately probably won't wear it.

The provenance is nice, but mainly valuable for the family. Dealers will try to sell pieces like this for a premium, but it's not military issued and the guy's not famous. There might be a few people who would pay extra, but not me. I think it's right to appraise it for what it is.

Agree. Even a little on the high side for me. His estimate of 60,000 GBP would be 82,000 USD.

Wasn’t the low estimate £50,000?
