Pam979 worth it? Can I see some love from owners?

Thinking of getting one. Understand the concerns of chipping.
Sucker for the word Militare on dial.

Please share your thoughts.

I love my 979! Seriously, I cannot wear other watches since owning it. Chipping? I don’t think you will chip it. I think the exterior is extremely durable and so light you won’t know you are wearing a watch. You would be concerned about damaging the movement from impact long before worrying about chipping or scratching. You know you may be thinking of ceramic watches which I have heard can chip (I think). But the 979 is carbotech which is very different from ceramic.

Brilliant watch. No risk of chipping; you must be thinking of a material other than Carbotech.

It most certainly is a strap hungry watch.
