Date Size/Magnification
This is probably a really silly question
 but I have an ExplorerII and a YG DD, both bought this year from an AD.I have noticed that the date on the DD is substantially larger than on the Explorer. Given that the cyclops magnifies by 2½, is it simply a question that the larger case size of the Explorer means that the date wheel will be larger and therefore the date font will be smaller? Thanks in advance for any clarifiaction on this. |

The larger diameter of the Exp-II would necessitate a larger date-wheel and so the date figures would probably be smaller. Hence the DD date would look bigger through the cyclops. Anyone else have some thoughts or views on this one....speak up now or forever hold your peace!!

Thanks for your comments JJ, when I get time I hope to post some pics of the YG DD, that is if I can stop looking at it
 It is my ultimate Rolex and have wanted one from the first time I saw one goodness knows how many years ago! I have just taken early retirement and it was my retirement present to myself

Myself would say its because the crystal and cyclops is slightly closer to the date wheel on the DD.

The crystal on the SD is so thick you can barely see the date, it's so far away
